Structuring the argument

Although texts written at university look different depending on genre and discipline, most texts present an argument. The way in which the argument is structured may in some disciplines decide the structure of the text, whereas in other fields, the overall structure is fixed.

In the instructional videos below, which come from the free online MOOC "Writing in English at University" (Lund University 2016), the key concepts of argument, research question, and thesis statement are covered, and advice on how to structure and present information is provided.
